Types of wines

  • Natural Wines
Wines made from must which are fermented naturally or with an additive in controlled amounts, such as yeast or sugar. These wines have an alcoholic content of from 10 to 15%. They are generally known as either white, red or rosé wines.

  • Fortified Wines
With an additional dose of alcohol, usually a grape brandy, at some stage of the wine-making process. Examples include Vermouth, Sherry, Marsala, Madeira and Port. The alcoholic content of these varieties ranges from 16 to 23%.

  • Sparkling Wines (D.O Cava)
Wines made using the Champagne method, which are the result of a double fermentation process. The first is the typical fermentation of natural wine, while the second fermentation takes place in the bottle.
