Flamenco in Seville
Flamenco in any of its forms (singing,
dancing or guitar playing) is the most representative
form of artistic expression in southern Spain: Andalucía
(Andalusia).
Flamenco in the 20th century has had a major
influence on other styles of music, from classical to jazz. In
recent years Flamenco itself has been influenced by other styles
of music, such as blues, jazz and hip-hop.
The result is the fascinating Flamenco fusion
of artists such as: Ketama, Las Niñas, Martires
del Compás. The classics are: Camarón
de la Isla, José Mercé, Paco de Lucía (guitar),
Sara Baras, Rafael Amargo, Antonio Canales and
Joaquín Cortés.
