Activities
Learn Spanish Seville, Spain
A new cultural focus in Spanish teaching.
All of our Spanish courses include a minimum of
four hours of complimentary cultural activities in and out of the
classroom. In addition we make available a broad program of weekend
trips so that you can get to know other parts of Andalusia and Spain.
In Giralda Center-SH we understand that language
teaching must be complimented with learning experiences outside
of the classroom. The objective: students understand and relate
with the linguistic, social and cultural reality which surrounds
them. All of our activities have been designed by our teaching team
and they are integrated into our curriculum for the learning of
Spanish: language, culture and tourism in Seville.
Giralda Center-SH is more than a language centre.
We understand that learning should be complimented with activities
outside of the classroom. We hope you will participate in the social,
cultural and linguistic events which we organise each month.
All the activities are designed by us and our teachers
will accompany you on every visit. There is a minimum of 8 activities
every month.
Learn Spanish in Spain, Seville
Some examples: discover southern
Spain’s gastronomy. Customs and popular festivals. Flamenco
in Andalusia. Seville’s Holy Week. The Feria (April Fair).
Popular bars and wineries. Seville’s Mudejar art.
Learn to dance sevillanas for the Feria. Discover
Seville’s legends walking through the streets of the Santa
Cruz quarter: La cabeza del rey Don Pedro, Don Miguel de Mañara,
Miguel de Cervantes and Seville, Sevillian poets: Bécquer
and Luis Cernuda
Visit cities such as Cordoba and
the Mezquita (mosque), Granada and the Alhambra, trekking on the
Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos (route of the White Towns): Ronda and
Grazalema, San Fermines in Pamplona, weekend in Morocco, get to
know Madrid and the Prado Museum.
We invite you to discover how our famous wines
are made, visiting the wineries of Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlúcar
de Barrameda.
Discover the secrets of olive oil production visiting
the Cordobese southern countryside. The beaches of Cadiz and the
island of Tavira on the Algarve coast, Portugal, a natural paradise,
only 90 minutes from Seville.
We offer Spanish film series: classic and contemporary
with an opening debate so that you understand the Spanish reality
of the last 30 years: Almodóvar, Fernando León, Alejandro
Amenábar, Benito Zambrano, Carlos Saura. . .
We offer a complimentary, monthly Spanish literature
series: Cervantes and El Siglo de Oro (the Golden Century), Federico
García Lorca, Luis Cernuda, Javier Marías, Arturo
Pérez Reverte, Isabel Allende, García Márquez,
Brice Echenique, Latin American literature.
We also provide pleasant and accessible
talks on recent Spanish history.
And all this we offer with one objective: that
you cease being a mere linguistic spectator and you become an active
part of communication, so that you see everything with your own
eyes, so that you perceive individually, so that your learning becomes
compact, human and long-lasting.
