What is the evaluation system used by the DELE Exams?

The maximum score in the exam is 100 points. For the purposes of evaluation, the different sections of the Beginners and Intermediate levels are grouped in the following manner (with the maximum score for each section appearing in brackets):

• Grupo I: Reading Comprehension (20 points) and Written Expression (15 points): 35 points.

• Grupo II: Grammar and Vocabulary (20 points): 20 points.

• Grupo III: Listening Comprehension (15 points) and Oral Expression (30 points): 45 points.

For the Superior level the scoring system is as follows:

• Grupo I: Reading Comprehension (15 points) and Written Expression (20 points): 35 points.

• Grupo II: Grammar and Vocabulary: 20 points.

• Grupo III: Listening Comprehension (15 points) and Oral Expression (30 points): 45 points.

In order to obtain any of the Diplomas it is necessary to achieve a minimum score of 70% of the maximum points possible in each of the groups indicated above: in other words, 24.5 points in Group 1, 14 points in Group 2 and 31.5 points in Group 3.

If the required score is obtained only in one or two of the above groups the candidate is still required to sit the entire exam on successive occasions.
